Although we would have liked to have visited Gettysburg for the re-enactment on July 2-3, we have decided to visit over the Labor Day weekend. We’re wondering if there are any special events or activities scheduled that weekend?

  As of right now, there are some events scheduled for Labor Day Weekend. That Friday (September 2nd) is actually First Friday in downtown Gettysburg, which is always a lot of fun. Also, on Saturday the Adams County Arts Council is presenting an open air Art Show at Hauser Estate Winery. The Gettysburg CVB has an extensive events calendar that is updated regularly. Keep checking back to our blog, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop of what is going on as well.

Love going to Gettysburg! My best advice is pack soda/water (in a cooler), use restaurant.com for food expense (make sure you google “discounts for restaurant.com” make ur dollar count! Then I use priceline negotiator for my stay. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott (SO gorgeous and brand new) for $55 a night (vs $189 a night). We did also stay at the bed and breakfast downtown, Dobbin House. It was wonderful! We loved staying there… Breakfast and ppl are wonderful, plus great location!
