Blossoms In Downtown Gettysburg

Seemingly overnight, the trees in Gettysburg have blossomed creating gorgeous scenes around town.  Although it’s a grey day in downtown Gettysburg, we’re enjoying these beautiful blooms while they last! Spring Has Arrived In Gettysburg

The past couple days in Gettysburg have been absolutely fabulous! The weather is warm, the sun is shining, and we’re finally seeing buds on the trees. I think it is safe to say that spring 2012 has arrived in Gettysburg! Check out these photos taken in downtown Gettysburg by the Gettysburg Hotel.

First Friday Gettysburg Style March 2nd

First Friday in March is always welcomed with open arms. To me, it marks the unofficial cross-over into Spring. Although we might not be there yet weather-wise, in my mind I am ready for the warmer months. Visit downtown Gettysburg on Friday, March 2nd to “March Into Spring.” This month’s Grand Prize for dropping off your signed First Friday coupon (download here) is a $100.00 gift certificate to Gettysburg Eddies.

Here are a few things to put on your list this First Friday:

Collect Spring Flower Seeds and Herbs:
As you shop from 4:00 – 7:00pm be sure to collect the Spring Flower seeds and herbs from participating retailers courtesy of Reid’s Orchard and Winery Tasting Room at Jennie’s House. Reid’s Winery will also be giving FREE $2 “pour tours” of their Sesquicentennial Gettysburg wines. Jennie’s House is located at 242 Baltimore Street.

Visit The Flower Boutique:
Welcome spring with a gorgeous arrangement for your home or send spring cheer to someone special. The Flower Boutique, located at 39 N. Washington Street, is a family owned and operated business committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts.

Flower Boutique's "Spring Sonata" - Pink roses, tulips, miniature carnations, light pink and hot pink spray roses, purple monte cassino asters, green button spray chrysanthemums and seeded eucalyptus are delivered in harmony in a classic terra-cotta pot.

I am in love with the Flower Boutique’s Spring Sonata arrangement pictured above. Just looking at it puts you in the mood for Spring! Click here for more information and to view other beautiful spring arrangements.

Enjoy a Teacher/Student Art Show at Bluebrick Gallery:
In celebration of Youth Art Month, the artists of the bluebrick gallery will be holding their first teacher/student show during the reopening of the gallery on First Friday March 2, 2012. Students from Gettysburg, Littlestown, Upper Adams, and Shippensburg School Districts will be represented. The gallery will be open for the evening celebration from 6-8 pm and light refreshments will be served. Click here for more information about this exciting art show!

Grab a Cocktail and a Bite at McClellan’s Tavern:
McClellan’s Tavern will be featuring a half price appetizer of Spring Rolls with Dipping Sauce and an Irish Espresso Martini Happy Hour Drink Special.

Enjoy 20% Off Black and White Signs at Lark:
Around the holidays, I listed Lark’s popular black and white signs as part of my downtown Gettysburg gift guide. On March First Friday Lark is offering 20% off these great signs!

See you downtown for First Friday! Visit GARMA’s website for more information about First Friday and for a list of all participating retailers.
